My Story

My name is Sherri Feld Sousa. I grew up in New Jersey and attended Salve Regina University, in Newport Rhode Island. I have lived in Rhode Island ever since! Soon after earning my degree, I worked in the corporate realm and raised a family of three beautiful children. I continue working in the corporate world, but I am also a fused glass and tapestry artist.

My fused glass is all one-of-a-kind and individually hand cut, dishwasher safe, colorful, functional, and decorative. Pieces are made by assembling individually cut pieces of colored glass and then fusing them together in a high temperature kiln to create a single flat panel. In a second firing the flat glass panels are re-heated so that they soften and "slump" into molds to give them shape.

I use Bullseye Glass from Portland, Oregon and all work is made in my studio in Tiverton, Rhode Island. I also offer private fused glass classes and create custom pieces on request.

How I Found My Art

My mother and I began to create glass together in 2010. She was my teacher and continues to be my inspiration. She was creative, expressive, and full of life, and her spirit lives in every piece I make. When she passed in 2023, I moved her studio from Florida to my home in RI. Since then, my passion has been to continue her art and share it with as many people as I can.

I sell my work at art festivals across New England, at local galleries and shops, and by custom commission. If you're looking for something made with intention and heart, I'd love to create it for you.
